Exhibition proposals

Have an idea for an exhibition in one of our gallery spaces?

Please fill out our GU Art Galleries Exhibitions Proposal Form and email it to: GUartgalleries@georgetown.edu

Only proposals submitted via email using the Exhibition Proposal Form will be considered; unsolicited proposal materials that are mailed or emailed to the Art Galleries will not be reviewed or returned.

Please note: Student shows organized outside of the department of Art and Art History and those in direct support of GU curricular activities are limited to the Spagnuolo Gallery.

Faculty, staff and affiliated art world professionals comprise the Georgetown University Art Galleries Exhibitions Committee. The committee meets two to four times each academic year to review proposals and plan the exhibitions schedule. Given the volume of proposals the committee accepts, we cannot guarantee your proposal will be considered within a certain timeframe. Please also note that our exhibitions schedule is programmed two years in advance. Every proposal, whether submitted by a GU affiliated curator or the community beyond our campus, is thoroughly vetted, and a staff member will follow up with you via email.

The guest curator of an approved exhibition proposal will collaborate closely with GU Art Galleries staff to develop a comprehensive exhibition plan including a budget, list of deliverables, schedules and installation plans. Additionally, the guest curator will be required to sign a formal contract.

All Georgetown students majoring or minoring in Studio Art will have the opportunity to exhibit their works in the gallery spaces; these exhibitions will be arranged by the Art Galleries and studio art professors. Unless you are participating in a scheduled student exhibition, please do not drop off student work for consideration.
